TORO v7.69.822.603

June 12, 2026

📋 Release Overview

A big one: a brand-new way to give people TORO access without sharing logins, smarter rewards resets, a clearer picture of your SMS bill, easier price-label setup, and a handful of register polish items customers will notice right away. This release goes well beyond a tune-up. Every TORO account is now tied to a single employee, and there’s a dedicated TORO Portal screen for handing out access — Insight, Portal, Billing, and more — person by person, without anyone sharing a password. Rewards resets can now target just the customers you choose, the SMS Inbox finally shows you exactly what you’re billed for, lining up price labels is a simple guided screen, and at the counter coupon codes print big enough to read and you control how brand-new guests get their receipt. The all-day Item Details screen gets a fresh modern look with a dark mode, you can now flag infused cigars so recommendations get smarter, the Cigar Finder is easier to use, receiving a purchase order can print a backstock putaway slip, and you can replay exactly how a drawer was counted. On the inventory side, your Find Item screen is now a modernized Item Catalog, there’s a brand-new Create Multi-Packs tool for building pack SKUs in bulk, and a new Cigar Packaging Sales Breakdown report shows how each cigar sells across boxes, bundles, packs, and singles.

📖 Detailed Updates in This Release…

🎁 Build Multi-Packs in Bulk

Create a 5-pack (or any pack) for a whole brand’s worth of cigars in one go. A new Create Multi-Packs tool (Dashboard → Item Management) lets you build a list of items — add every item in one or more brands, pick items individually, or both — then create a pack SKU for all of them at once. Choose the packaging and how many cigars per pack, and each new pack’s cost is linked to the item’s master SKU, so it stays in step automatically. An EXISTS column flags items that already have a pack that size and skips them, so you never make a duplicate. You can also create a pack straight from a single item: Item Details now has a Create Multi Pack button. Pick the packaging and count, then choose Automated Pricing (retail figured from your markups) or Manually Set Retail (type your own price — and it stays put, it won’t get recalculated next time you open the SKU). How to access: Dashboard → Item Management → Create Multi-Packs (or the Create Multi Pack button on any item).

📊 New Report: Cigar Packaging Sales Breakdown

See how each cigar sells across boxes, bundles, packs, and singles. A brand-new report (Advanced Reporting Module → Sales) shows how every cigar’s sales split across Box / Bundle / Pack / Single packaging — with a color-coded distribution bar, plus packages sold, individual sticks, and the percentage for each type, each item’s total, and its share of all your sales. Run it for any date range across all items, a single vendor, or specific brands, with the column headers staying put as you scroll. Every row has a Details button that opens a full breakdown for that one cigar — Retail, Wholesale, and combined charts, plus a side-by-side Retail-vs-Wholesale comparison for each packaging — right inside the same report, with View All Items to jump back to the list. How to access: Advanced Reporting Module → Sales → Cigar Packaging Sales Breakdown.

🔥 Mark Your Infused Cigars

Flag a cigar as infused, and TORO learns which customers actually want them. Item Details now has a simple Infused (Yes / No) setting. Once your cigars are flagged, two things happen. First, the Cigar Finder can filter by infused, so you can pull up exactly the infused (or non-infused) cigars a customer is asking for. Second — and this is the nice part — customer recommendations quietly learn each person’s infused preference from what they’ve actually bought. A customer who loves infused cigars gets shown more of them, and a customer who never touches infused won’t have them pushed at all. You don’t have to do anything special to get the smarter recommendations — just flag your infused cigars and TORO takes it from there. How to access: open an item → Infused; filter under Cigar Finder.

🎫 Coupon Codes Customers Can Actually Read

The coupon code and its expiration date now print extra-large on the receipt. When a receipt prints a coupon, the code itself now prints in big, bold type across the receipt — and the expiration date prints larger too. No more squinting at a tiny string of characters or handing the receipt back with “what does that say?” The coupon a customer can read is the coupon a customer comes back to redeem. Everything else on the receipt is unchanged — just the parts that matter for redeeming the coupon got bigger.

🧾 Choose How New Guests Get Their Receipt

You now decide what’s pre-selected — text, e-mail, or print — for a brand-new customer who hasn’t picked yet. When a brand-new customer has never chosen how they want their receipt, TORO used to always start them with a text-message receipt switched on. Now that starting point is yours to set. A new Default Receipt Method for New Guests panel in Set Up → Transactions, Tabs, Tips & Items lets you turn each method — Text, E-Mail, and Print — on or off as the default for guests who haven’t saved a preference of their own. Out of the box it works just like before (Text on, E-Mail and Print off), so you don’t have to touch a thing unless you want to. And this only ever sets the starting point for a brand-new guest — the moment a customer picks their own receipt preference, that choice always wins. How to access: Set Up → Transactions, Tabs, Tips & Items → Default Receipt Method for New Guests.

📦 Purchase Orders Always Offer Your Backorders

Add an item that’s sitting on backorder, and TORO offers to pull it in — on every order, not just drafts. When you add an item to a purchase order and you already have that item on backorder with the same company, TORO now opens your backorders so you can fulfill them right there — no matter what stage the order is in. Previously this only happened on a brand-new draft order; on others you just got a reminder popup and had to go dig the backorders out yourself. If there’s nothing on backorder for that item, nothing pops up — you won’t notice a thing. It only steps in when there’s actually a backorder worth clearing. How to access: Inventory → Purchase Orders → add an item that’s on backorder.

🎯 Target Who Gets a Rewards Reset

Reset rewards for everyone… or just the customers you choose. The Rewards Program Reset screen now has a “Who gets reset” choice. You can reset everyone, exactly like before — or narrow it down to just the customers on selected discount levels and/or with selected account tags. As you make your selection, a live “customers affected” count updates so you always know the size of what you’re about to do, and a “See impacted customers” list lets you check the actual names before you commit. Every reset still lands in your Reset History with one-click undo, so a targeted reset is just as safe and reversible as a full one. How to access: Rewards → Rewards Program Reset (available to stores with the Rewards Program Reset module).

🔐 Give Someone the TORO Portal — Without Sharing a Login

One screen to manage every TORO account at your store, feature by feature. There’s a new TORO Portal button (Admin Tools → New Features) that opens a single screen for managing every TORO account at your store. From there you can create a Portal-only account for an owner (Portal on, Insight off), hand out a pairing code so they can sign themselves up, and turn each feature — Insight, Portal, Billing, Proposals, Ideas, Admin — on or off for each person individually. The days of everyone sharing one Insight login are over. Someone who only needs the Portal gets exactly the Portal, nothing more — and you can see and adjust who has what, all in one place. How to access: Admin Tools → New Features → TORO Portal.

👤 Every TORO Account Is Tied to One of Your Employees

One person, one TORO login — no more accidental duplicates. When you create a TORO account or hand out a Portal pairing code, you now start by picking which employee it’s for. That means each person at your store has exactly one TORO login, and a pairing code automatically attaches to the right person the moment they sign up. Employees who already have an account are left off the list, so you can’t accidentally create a second one for someone. Managers automatically receive full Portal access, so the people who run the floor are set up from the start.

📱 TORO Insight Is One Tap From the Main Screen

Your dashboard is always a tap away — with a heads-up when your store isn’t sending data yet. The TORO Insight button now lives on the main screen all the time. If your store isn’t sending dashboard data yet, it shows a red dot — tap it to get signed up. If you’re already on Insight, it stays green while your numbers are flowing, so you always know your dashboard is current at a glance.

🏷️ A Simpler Way to Line Up Your Price Labels

Pick a size, nudge it into place, print a real label, and scan it — right on one screen. Set Up Printers → Set Up Label Dimensions now opens an easy alignment screen. Pick Small or Medium, then nudge where printing starts with simple up / down / left / right arrows. Print a test label using a real item from your shop, and scan it right there — a green PASS or red FAIL tells you instantly whether the barcode reads. The screen starts you on a sample item and remembers your test item for next time, so dialing in a new label roll takes a minute instead of a guessing game. (The detailed editor with exact size and font settings is still available to TORO staff.) How to access: Set Up → Set Up Printers → Set Up Label Dimensions.

📱 Know Exactly What’s Behind Your SMS Bill

See every text on an invoice, count your segments, and spot what you weren’t charged for. The SMS tools now line up with your bill. On an SMS usage invoice, the View SMS for Invoice button opens the inbox showing every text from that exact billing period — no more guessing what a charge covers. The inbox header now breaks down what’s loaded into SMS vs MMS and inbound vs outbound, with both message counts and segment counts (segments are what you’re actually billed for, so this matches the invoice). Each message also gets a Type column (SMS or MMS) and a Segments column, so you can see at a glance what each one was and what it cost you. When you view a full past month, the inbox also flags any Phantom Fails (NOT BILLED) — texts that show up in your log but the carrier never charged for — so a busy log never looks scarier than your actual bill. And a new “?” help button on the SMS Campaign Editor (and the Reward Coupon panel) opens a plain-language guide to how SMS billing works: why you’re billed by segment, how many characters fit in an SMS vs an MMS segment, and what each costs. How to access: SMS Inbox, and any SMS usage invoice (available to stores with the SMS module).

📁 The Item Importer Got Smarter

Bring in search tags from your spreadsheet — and stop re-entering your setup every time. Importing items from a spreadsheet (Find Item) is now far less fiddly. There’s a new Search Tags column — put a comma-separated list in it and each tag is added to the item so it’s easy to find at the register. Any barcode value that isn’t purely numbers also becomes a search tag automatically, and duplicate tags are skipped. Best of all, the importer now remembers your setup. Your column mappings, default brand, default product type, items-per-sku, checkbox choices, and the last folder you imported from are all saved and restored next time — no more starting from scratch. The file picker is now the standard Windows file dialog and opens right to where you last imported from. A default brand is required (pre-filled with your store name) so every item always lands under a brand. How to access: Find Item → import from spreadsheet.

💳 Adding a New Card Terminal Just Got Easier

Swap in a new credit card terminal and start using it right away — no restart, no guessing which register you’re on. When you add a new credit card terminal (Help → Help with Credit Card Issues → Add New CC Terminal), it now takes effect immediately — you can run a card on it without closing and reopening TORO, and the terminal’s name shows up in the window title bar right away so you can confirm it’s live. Before the swap, TORO now asks you to confirm and shows the Station Name of the register you’re linking it to, so you don’t accidentally set up a terminal on the wrong counter. And the setup screen has new ? help buttons next to each name field that explain what to put there — including a handy tip that you can simply enter “UPDATE LATER” for the processor device name while you’re waiting to hear back from your card processor. 📝 Your Item Screen Got a Fresh New Look

The window you open all day long is cleaner, easier to read, and now has a dark mode. The Item Details screen — the window you open more than any other — has been rebuilt to match the modern TORO look, in both light and dark themes. The same information is all still there, just laid out so it’s easier to scan: clearer headers for each size, color-coded status (green for active, red for inactive), and a tidy Show ID toggle when you need the behind-the-scenes ID. Picking a cigar’s size is simpler too — a single Size button replaces the old length and ring-gauge boxes, so you choose from real sizes instead of typing numbers. How to access: open any item to see its details.

🔍 The Cigar Finder Is Easier to Use

Cleaner filter lists, a quick infused switch, and price boxes you can just type into. The Cigar Finder got a round of polish. The Country, Wrapper, Binder, and Filler lists no longer crowd the screen — each one now shows how many you’ve picked with a Modify button that opens the full list in its own window, so the panel stays clean. The Infused filter is now a quick Both / Yes / No switch instead of a dropdown. And the Retail Price filter now has typeable Min and Max boxes right next to the slider — click a box and start typing, press Tab to jump to the next. How to access: Cigar Finder.

📦 Backstock Putaway Slips When You Receive an Order

Receive a purchase order and TORO prints a slip telling whoever stocks it exactly where everything goes. When you receive a purchase order, TORO now offers to print a single putaway slip listing each received item and where it belongs in backstock — so whoever puts the order away knows exactly where everything goes, without hunting around. There’s also a Print Backstock Slip button on the purchase order screen to print it any time you like. Only items that already have a saved backstock location show up on the slip, so it stays focused on what can actually be put away. If none of the received items have a saved location, nothing prints. How to access: Inventory → Purchase Orders → receive an order (or the Print Backstock Slip button).

▶️ Replay a Drawer Close — and Automatic Over/Short Records

Step through exactly how a count was entered, and keep a permanent record whenever the drawer comes out over or short. Open a closed drawer report and click Replay Edits to step through exactly how the count was entered, one change at a time. Move forward and back with the on-screen buttons or the ◀ ▶ arrow keys, with a timestamp on each step and the fields that changed highlighted as you go. It’s the easiest way to review a close that came out over or short and see how it got there. On top of that, whenever a drawer count is over or short, TORO now automatically adds a locked note to that close — the over/under amount plus the counts that were entered — so you always have a permanent record that can’t be quietly edited away. 🗃️ Your “Find Item” Screen Is Now the Item Catalog

Same screen you live in all day — renamed, restyled, and roomier. The Find Item screen is now the Item Catalog, renamed everywhere it appears (the Items dashboard button and the main-screen tab) and rebuilt to match the modern TORO look. The items table now fills the whole screen, columns are sized for easy reading, and the cost and retail toggles live in a clear Columns to Display box. A new Show ID toggle adds an Item ID column when you need it (off by default, and remembered for you). The brand picker is now type-to-search — click in it and start typing a brand name to jump straight to it, then press Enter to load it. Exporting got cleaner too: Export to CSV writes plain numbers so your totals add up in Excel, while Export to HTML mirrors exactly what’s on screen — fraction sizes, formatted prices, and the green/red active status when you pick Color. How to access: Dashboard → Item Catalog (or the main-screen tab).

📈 Run Reports Straight From an Item

One button on Item Details opens every report for that cigar. The separate per-item report buttons are now one Advanced Reporting Module button on Item Details that opens a launcher styled just like the main ARM — one tile per report (Item Sales, Customer History, Packaging Breakdown), headed by the brand and item name. Any report above your ARM plan shows a locked tile with an upgrade prompt. The Item Sales report now opens the interactive chart version — monthly quantity, revenue, and average-price trends with trend lines — and it’s available in the main ARM hub too. How to access: open any item → Advanced Reporting Module.

💲 Help Understanding Your Markups

A plain-English guide, right where you set your prices. The Markup Configuration screen now has a How markups work button that opens a plain-English guide to TORO’s four markup levels (Item SKU → Item → Brand → Product Type), the “most-specific-wins” rule, and how to read the green box. The on-screen directions for where to change each level were brought up to date too — Brand markups now live under Items → Manage Brands, and Product Type defaults under Set Up System → Manage Product Types.

🔧 Under the Hood

  • Turning off someone’s access takes effect right away. When you remove a person’s Portal or Insight access, their session now ends immediately and they’re returned to the login screen — instead of staying in a blocked session until it expired.
  • Insight can only be switched on once your store has it. The “Can use TORO Insight” toggle stays locked (with a note pointing you to the TORO Insight button) until Insight is actually set up for your store, so it can’t be handed out before it works.
  • No more repeated Windows permission pop-up at startup. Fixed a case where some registers showed Windows’ “allow this app to make changes?” prompt every single time TORO opened, even after clicking Yes. TORO now only asks when setup is genuinely needed, and shows a friendly heads-up first with a “Why is this needed?” button that explains it.
  • New brands sync to Insight automatically. When you create a new brand, its nightly inventory sync to TORO Insight starts switched on, so its items are included from the start without you having to remember to flip it.
  • Quick Add New Items is easier to read. In the Item SKUs list, hovering a SKU now shows its packaging (e.g. Box (20)) in the tooltip alongside its barcodes, and the main item list no longer pops a tooltip over every row.
  • Cash-drawer auto-recovery installs reliably. On APG drawer stations, the auto-recovery helper now installs dependably, so a stuck drawer can re-wake itself without a reboot.
  • The contact importer accepts more spreadsheets. Standard quoted CSV files — Excel “Save As CSV,” PowerShell, and Google Sheets exports — now import cleanly, even when number fields or values with commas are wrapped in quotes.
  • Secondary stations recover when the main computer’s address changes. If a back register can’t reach the main computer, the “enter database address” prompt now reliably comes back up so you can point it at the new address.
  • The Online Store test screen opens blank. The Online Store setup/test screen no longer starts pre-filled with a demo website, so a connection can’t be saved by accident before you’ve entered your own site’s details.
