Publishing Your Hours to Your Website
If your website shows your store hours, TORO can keep them current — change your hours once at the register and the website follows. No more discovering weeks later that the site has been telling everyone you're closed.
Open Setup → Set Up Store Hours and look for the Publish Hours To Your Website panel. It says plainly whether your hours are being sent anywhere. If they aren't and you'd like them to be, press Website Settings.
Setting it up
The Website Settings screen asks for three things:
- Website Address — your site, like
yourstore.com. - WordPress Username — the account your web person uses to sign in to WordPress.
- WordPress Application Password — created in WordPress under Users, then Application Passwords. This is not the normal login password; it's a special one WordPress issues for exactly this kind of connection, and it can be revoked at any time without changing anyone's login.
If you run your online store through TORO, these fields fill themselves in from your online store settings — just press Send Hours Now to confirm it works.
Your website also needs to be able to receive the hours — that's a small piece your web person installs on the WordPress side. Get in touch and we'll point them at exactly what's needed.
Send Hours Now
Send Hours Now pushes your hours to the website on the spot and tells you exactly what happened, in plain words. That's the whole point of the button: after any change — new holiday hours, a new closing time — you can prove the website got it instead of opening the site and hoping.
From then on, whenever your hours change in TORO, they're sent along automatically.
One thing worth knowing
Some websites keep a saved copy of the homepage to load faster, and that copy can lag behind. If TORO says the hours were sent but the front page still shows old ones, check your dedicated hours page first — if that page is right, the homepage's saved copy just hasn't refreshed yet, and your web person can clear it.
